Garment manufacturing ERP software
Karpan ERP is ERP software for garment and apparel manufacturers. It runs each buyer order from style, size and colour to BOM, purchase, fabric lots, job work, production and order profit, in one system.

What does a garment ERP do?
A garment ERP runs the orders, materials and production of a garment factory in one place. It has to understand three things a general ERP does not: one style comes in many sizes and colours, fabric arrives and moves in lots, and a lot of the work goes out to job workers.
Karpan ERP is built around these three facts. Your merchandiser enters the order as a size and colour grid. The BOM knows that XS and XXL use different amounts of fabric and different trims. Store tracks each bale and vendor lot. Fabric sent to a dyer, printer or stitching unit stays on record until it comes back.
It is made for garment makers and exporters, knitwear and woven units, and apparel brands that run their own production. We sell and support Karpan ERP in India, Bangladesh and Vietnam. New to the topic? Read what garment ERP is first.
One garment order, start to finish.
Sale order
Enter the buyer order by style, with a size and colour grid. Add an excess percentage per size if you plan extra pieces.
BOM
List fabric and trims for the style. Each line can apply to certain sizes or colours. Set the average consumption, then send the BOM for approval.
Planning
Lay out the process route on the planning canvas (for example knitting, dyeing, cutting, stitching) and compare planned cost with the budget before you buy.
Purchase
Pick materials straight from the BOM to make purchase orders. Orders go for approval, and a line cannot drop below what is already received.
Goods receipt
Receive against the PO and split the quantity into bale/than numbers and vendor lots. Transport and e-way bill numbers can be noted on the receipt.
Inspection
Record OK and rejected quantity for each lot. Only OK quantity becomes usable stock, ready to reserve to the order. Rejects go to vendor return.
Job work and production
Issue lots to job workers (oldest first) or to your own departments. Move work between departments and receive finished garments by colour and size.
Order profit
See sales value against material, job work and other cost for the order, on a cash-out or consumed (COGS) basis.
Enter an order the way the buyer sends it.
Each style has an attribute grid. Size and colour are the usual ones, and you can add others you need, such as shade. Type quantities straight into the grid, see totals as you go, and add excess per size.
- Style master with style group and images
- Size and colour grid on the sale order
- Excess quantity carried into planning
- Order list with search, filters and style thumbnails

BOM and planning canvas →Purchase and goods receipt
Purchase orders from the BOM, approvals, PO templates, and receipts split into bale and vendor lots.
Purchase and GRN →Fabric inspection and lots
OK and rejected quantity per lot, free, reserved and issued stock, and the Lot 360 history of every lot.
Fabric lot tracking →Job work
Issue lots to dyers, printers and stitching units, see stock lying with each job worker, and roll process cost and loss into the rate.
Job work management →Production and WIP
Work orders with approval, issue to production, department-to-department transfer, WIP stock, and garment receipt by colour and size.
Production and WIP tracking →Order profit and reports
Order-wise profit and loss, component costing, stock ledger, procurement and job worker stock reports, with Excel export.
Roles and audit trail
Role, branch and field-level permissions. Every change to every main table is logged with old value, new value, user and time.
Audit trail →Karpan AI
Ask about orders, stock and job work in plain English. Answers are read-only and follow each user’s role and branch.
Karpan AI →Fabric sent out stays on record.
Most garment units send work outside: dyeing, printing, embroidery, washing or stitching. In Karpan you raise a job worker order, issue lots against it, and receive the goods back lot by lot. Stock lying with each job worker has its own report, and the process cost and loss roll into the item rate.
- Lots issued oldest first; an issue larger than stock is blocked
- Free stock is reserved to the order before it is issued
- Base rate + process cost + loss = new item rate
- Jobworker Stock report for material lying outside
Know where the pieces are right now.
A work order is approved before any material is issued. Production moves work from one department to the next, so WIP stock shows what each department holds. Finished garments are received by colour and size, and the system will not accept more output than the material consumed allows.
- Work order and work order approval
- Material issue, return and debit note for production
- Department-to-department transfer and WIP stock
- Alteration and reject stock kept separate

See what each order really made.
The order-wise profit and loss report puts sales value next to material, job work and other cost for every customer order. Switch between cash-out (what you received and paid for) and consumed (what the order actually used).
- Profit per customer order
- Material, job work and other cost heads
- Component costing for in-house steps
- Excel and print

Garment ERP vs a general ERP
General ERPs can be set up for garments, but most of the garment logic has to be built on top. This is what Karpan gives you without that setup work.
| Need | General ERP (usual setup) | Karpan ERP |
|---|---|---|
| Size and colour | Each size-colour is a separate item or variant; order entry is line by line | Size and colour grid on the order; style keeps all sizes together |
| BOM by size | One BOM per item or variant, or a custom add-on | One BOM per order and style; lines apply to chosen sizes and colours |
| Fabric lots | Batch numbers, usually without bale/vendor lot split | Bale/than and vendor lot at receipt; Lot 360 history |
| Quality gate | Often a separate step or add-on | Only inspected-OK quantity becomes usable stock |
| Job work | Generic subcontracting, set up per item | Job worker orders, lot issue, stock with each job worker, loss and rate roll-up |
| Order profit | Built from accounting reports | Order-wise P&L report out of the box |
| Accounting and tax | Usually included | Not included; use your accounting software |
General ERP column describes a typical setup, not one product. Many general ERPs can do more with partners or custom work.
Where Karpan stops
We would rather you know this before the demo.
- Accounting and tax: Karpan is not accounting software. It does not file GST or VAT returns or make e-invoices. HSN codes, SAC codes and party GSTIN are stored, and you keep your accounting in your current software.
- Payroll and attendance: not included.
- Cutting plans and markers: not included. Cutting can be a process in your route, but lay and marker planning is done outside.
- Barcode scanning: not available today.
How to start with Karpan.
1. See it with your own order. Book a free 30-minute demo. Bring one real style with its sizes, colours and BOM, and we will walk it through the system with you.
2. Set up your masters. Styles, materials, parties (buyers, suppliers, job workers), stores and users. Setup, data import and training are quoted once, based on your size.
3. Start with live orders. We suggest starting with new orders only and letting old orders finish in your old system. Karpan runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install.
There is a free plan for one branch and up to 3 users. Paid plans are per factory. See Karpan ERP pricing, or read about job work management and fabric lot tracking first.
Things people ask us.
What is garment manufacturing ERP software?
It is business software that runs a garment factory’s orders, BOMs, purchase, fabric stock, job work and production in one system, with size, colour and lot built in. Karpan ERP is one such system.
Is Karpan ERP also for apparel manufacturers?
Yes. Garment and apparel manufacturing are the same work for us: styles, sizes, colours, fabric lots, job work and production. Karpan also suits fabric and processing units.
Can Karpan handle size and colour on the BOM?
Yes. Each BOM line can apply to chosen sizes and colours, with its own average consumption, so XS and XXL do not share one flat average.
Can I track fabric sent to job workers?
Yes. You issue lots against a job worker order, receive them back lot by lot, and see stock lying with each job worker. Process cost and loss roll into the item rate.
Does Karpan ERP do accounting and GST filing?
No. Karpan keeps HSN, SAC and GSTIN details and e-way bill numbers on documents, but it does not post accounts, file returns or make e-invoices. Use it with your accounting software.
Which countries do you support?
We sell and support Karpan ERP in India, Bangladesh and Vietnam. It runs in a web browser.
How much does a garment ERP cost with Karpan?
There is a free plan for one branch and up to 3 users, and paid plans per factory. Setup and training are quoted separately. See the pricing page for current plans.
