The short answer

What home textile makers need from an ERP

Home textiles look simple next to fashion: fewer styles, longer runs. The difficulty is in the material. A bedsheet order may use thousands of metres of one quality, and every sheet and pillow cover in a set must come from fabric that matches. Grey fabric goes out for bleaching, dyeing or printing, comes back shorter, and is then cut and stitched, often by another unit.

So the system has to know lots, not just items. It has to keep stock lying with each processor, add the processing loss to the cost, and stop anyone from cutting fabric that has not passed inspection.

Karpan ERP was built for exactly this kind of flow in garments and textiles. The same lot tracking, job work and order costing work for home textiles. Read the full textile flow on textile manufacturing ERP.

How an order moves

From buyer order to packed sets.

01

Sale order

Enter the order by style, with your own sizes (single, double, queen, king, or 50×70 and so on) and colours in one grid.

02

BOM

List the fabric for sheets and pillow covers, piping, labels and packing for each size and colour, with average consumption.

03

Purchase and receipt

Buy grey or finished fabric from the BOM and receive it by bale/than and vendor lot.

04

Inspection

Check each lot. Only the OK quantity becomes stock and is reserved to the order.

05

Processing

Send fabric to the bleacher, dyer or printer as job work, lot by lot, and receive it back with the loss.

06

Cutting and stitching

Raise work orders for your own departments or outside stitching units, and track pieces by department, size and colour.

07

Profit

See what each order made, on what was bought or on what was actually used.

Fabric by lot

Matching sets start with matching lots.

Every receipt is split into bale/than numbers and vendor lots. Each lot shows how much is free, reserved and issued, and Lot 360 shows its whole history, so you know which lot went into which order.

  • Bale/than and vendor lot at receipt
  • Free, reserved and issued stock per lot
  • Lots issued to job workers oldest first
  • Lot 360 history and stock ledger

Processing and job work

Fabric at the dyer is still your stock.

Bleaching, dyeing, printing, quilting and stitching are often done outside. Karpan keeps the fabric lying with each job worker in its own stock report, logs every lot that comes back, and books the loss. The new rate per metre (base + process charge + loss) carries forward to cutting and stitching.

  • Job worker orders for any process you set up
  • Issue larger than stock is blocked
  • Loss logged on return and added to the rate
  • Jobworker Stock report

Sizes, colours and sets

Sizes you name, not ours.

Home textile sizes are not S, M and L. In Karpan, size and colour are attributes you set up yourself, so an order can use single, double, queen and king, or measurements in centimetres. The BOM can give each size its own fabric consumption, so a king sheet does not use the average of a single.

  • Your own size and colour lists
  • BOM lines for chosen sizes and colours
  • Excess per size on the order
  • Order Review 360 for each order

Where Karpan stops

Please check these before the demo.

  • Looms and machines: no loom, terry or quilting machine monitoring.
  • Dye house lab: no dye recipes, lab dips or shade matching records.
  • Sets in production: turning components into a set (sheet plus pillow covers) uses production assembly, the newest part of Karpan, which is still being extended. Ask for a current demo.
  • Shipping and accounting: no packing lists, export invoices or accounts. Keep these in your current software.
  • Barcode scanning: not available today.
Questions

Things people ask us.

Is Karpan ERP suitable for home textile manufacturers?

Yes. Karpan handles orders by size and colour, fabric by lot, outside processing with loss, inspection, production and order profit, which is the core of bed linen, towel and curtain making.

Can I use home textile sizes like single, double, queen and king?

Yes. Sizes and colours are attributes you set up yourself, so you can use any size names or measurements.

Can Karpan track fabric sent for dyeing and printing?

Yes. You issue lots against a job worker order, receive them back with the loss, and see what is still lying with each processor.

Can Karpan keep sets from the same fabric lot?

Karpan records which lot was issued to each order and job worker, and Lot 360 shows where every lot went. It does not block mixing lots by itself, so your team decides which lots to issue together.

Does Karpan handle export documents?

No. Karpan has no packing list, export invoice or shipping module. It covers orders, material, processing, production and order profit.

Where do you support home textile units?

We sell and support Karpan ERP in India, Bangladesh and Vietnam, from our team in Jaipur.
