How much does garment ERP cost?

By the Karpan ERP team, UiSlick, Jaipur

Garment ERP cost depends on the pricing model (per user, per factory or per module), the modules you need, setup and training, and any custom work. There is no standard price, and many vendors quote only after a demo. The number to compare is the total for the first year, not the monthly fee.

This guide explains what you pay for, the common pricing models, the costs people forget, and how to compare quotes. It does not list other vendors’ prices, because most are not public and change often. Karpan ERP’s own published prices are shown below as one example.

What you pay for

Common pricing models

  • Per user: you pay for each person who logs in. Costs grow as you add merchandisers, store and QC staff.
  • Per factory (or per company): one price for a unit, with a user limit. Easier to plan for.
  • Per module: you pay for each area (sales, BOM, job work, production). Cheap to start, but costs rise as you add modules.
  • One-time licence: a large payment up front, then a yearly support fee. Upgrades and hosting may be extra.

Costs people forget

  • Cleaning and moving old data.
  • Staff time during setup and parallel running.
  • Extra users, branches or storage after the first year.
  • Custom reports and print formats.
  • Tax on the subscription (for example GST in India).
  • Software you still need alongside the ERP, such as accounting.

Example: Karpan ERP’s published prices

Karpan ERP publishes plans priced per factory, in Indian rupees, excluding GST. Setup and training are quoted separately, based on your size. Check the pricing page for current plans.

Add setup, data import and training (quoted once) and GST to get the real first-year figure. This is one example of how a published price turns into a first-year cost, not a quote for your factory. Prices can change, so confirm on the pricing page.

How to keep the cost down

  1. Start with the modules you need now, usually orders, BOM, purchase and stock. Add job work and production later.
  2. Try before you buy. A free plan or trial with your own data costs nothing and shows the real fit.
  3. Clean your masters first. Duplicate items and parties make setup slower and dearer.
  4. Avoid customisation you do not need. Ask whether the standard flow can do the job.
  5. Get the price in writing, including what happens when you grow.

Questions people ask

How much does garment ERP cost?

It varies by vendor, size and modules. Compare the total first-year cost, including setup, training, support, tax and extras, from at least two vendors on the same sheet.

Is there a free garment ERP?

Some vendors offer a free plan or an open-source version. Check the limits (users, orders, modules) and what setup and support cost. Karpan ERP has a free plan for one branch and up to 3 users.

Is cloud ERP cheaper than on-premise?

Cloud has no server or upkeep cost for you and is paid as a subscription. On-premise needs a larger payment up front plus servers and IT support. Compare both over several years.

What is the cheapest way to start with ERP in a small garment unit?

Start with a free or low-cost plan covering orders, BOM, purchase and stock, with your own data. Add modules and users only when the team is using it daily.
